French Art Nouveau Secretaire and chair with Arjen Spinhoven

10:00 - 5:00 Wednesday

1 Day (6 hour) Class

At this workshop the students build a miniature 1:12 version of a famous Art Nouveau secretaire designed by Emille Galle. He was a member of the French so called ''School of Nancy''. The design of the secretaire dates from 1903. The chair is my own design but is based on the Art Nouveau designs from the beginning of the 2th century. The students shall learn how to build these kits and more important how to use acrylic paint and medium for making the mdf material look like actual mahogany wood. At the end of the day the students have a real little French heritage piece and a lot more confidence in building miniature kits (and making them as nice as the examples shown). All Skill Levels Welcome.
